2 men charged with criminal sexual penetration of a child in separate cases in Dona Ana County

Two Doa Ana County men have been indicted, in separate cases, on multiple counts of Criminal Sexual Penetration of a child.

Fernando M. Munoz, 34, of Las Cruces has been charged with 16 counts of criminal sexual penetration of a child under the age of 13 dating back to 2009 and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Authorities say Munoz allegedly forced the child to take preventive pregnancy drugs and view pornography. Bond was set at $250,000 and Munoz remains in custody.

David Alvarado Herrera, 33, of Sunland Park has been indicted on 33 counts of Criminal Sexual Penetration of a child under the age of 13 dating back to 2010. Herrerais not a U.S. Citizen and authorities believe he has fled to Mexico. Bond was set at $100,000.
