Jenna Farrey’s bond adjusted by El Paso judge

Jenna Farrey is now technically eligible for bond, although she would still have to overcome significant obstacles to be released prior to her trial, which is currently scheduled for December.

District Judge Patrick Garcia has modified the bond for the Army wife accused of Injury to a Child in connection with her son, Jackson Farrey.

A body found buried in Orogrande, New Mexico is believed to be that of Jackson.

After leaving the El Paso area, and subsequently being apprehended at a Michigan motel with her husband, Jeffrey and their older son, Blake, Jenna Farrey was held without bond on a pair of probation violations. Those charges involved leaving Blake unattended in 2012, to which she pleaded guilty. A $1.5 million bond was subsequently added when she was charged with injury to a child.

A court employee told KVIA that Judge Garcia declined Wednesday to reduce Jenna Farrey’s $1.5 million bond on the injury to a child charge, but did allow $100,000 bonds to be set for each of the probation violations.

The distinction may be largely technical, since it would require an upfront, non-refundable payment of ten percent or more of the $1.7 million total bond. A local attorney who didn’t wish to be identified told ABC-7 bail bond companies would probably require more than a ten percent service fee since Farrey has already fled the area once.

Jeffrey Farrey also remains in custody. His trial date is in October.
