Chihuahuas sting Bees to win fourth-straight, 11-7

The El Paso Chihuahuas hit four home runs in their 11-7 win over the Salt Lake Bees at Smith’s Ballpark in Salt Lake City Saturday night. The Chihuahuas have won four consecutive games for the first time since late June. El Paso has piled up 30 runs and 42 hits in the first three games of the road trip.

Cody Decker hit two home runs against former Major League All-Star Randy Wolf, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Decker has six home runs in six games at Smith’s Ballpark this season. Six different Chihuahuas had multi-hit games, including Jake Goebbert, who finished 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs. Jason Lane beat Wolf in a matchup of two 37-year-old lefties, with Lane allowing four earned runs in six innings of work.

Salt Lake scored two runs in the seventh inning on a rarely seen play, when two runners, Vance Albitz and Tony Campana, both scored on a sacrifice fly. Dennis O’Grady pitched a scoreless ninth inning for the Chihuahuas. El Paso is now 6-3 against Salt Lake (Angels affiliate) this season.
