El Paso Police arrest man who allegedly drove 90 mph, tried to evade police on foot

El Paso Police arrested a 21-year-old man who was allegedly driving 90 mph on I-10 early Thursday morning.

Police say that Michael Cedillos, of the 9100 block of Raleigh, was driving a 2004 Honda Civic at 90 mph in a posted 60 mph zone on east on I-10 at mile marker 28.

After being stopped by the officer, Cedillos exited his car and police say an open 12-ounce bottle of beer was on the driver side floor board.

Police say Cedillos then allegedly ran away from the officer on Gateway West before several other units in the area caught Cedillos a short distance away.

Police say Cedillos was intoxicated and then arrested.

He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on a charge of DWI with open alcohol container, evading arrest, and four outstanding municipal court warrants.

One of those warrants was for a charge of speeding 87 mph in a 60 mph zone. His bonds totaled $4,063.
