Rain affects Country Club Rd. project; Monday opening could be delayed

Rain could be leading to a delay in a construction project in the Upper Valley.

“(Thursday) night’s heavy rains have slowed work on Country Club Road, meaning the road might not be open on Monday morning,” Geoffrey Espineli, City project engineer, said in a news release. “As we’ve reported to you in this enewsletter, contractors were focused on re-opening Country Club Road between Love Road and Doniphan Drive for the first day of school on Monday; they were relying on good weather to get the work done in time.”

Espineli added that the contractor has committed to working through the weekend, weather permitting, to try and finish the project by Monday morning.

An update on the progress of the project will be given Sunday night.

“In the meantime, I would encourage you to consider a ‘Plan B’ for how to get kids to school on Monday morning,” Espineli said.
