El Paso Police release name of Fort Bliss soldier killed in motorcycle accident

El Paso Police release name of the Fort Bliss soldier killed in a motorcycle crash early Sunday morning.

Police have identified the deceased as 24-year-old Jaia Spear of El Paso. The driver of the second vehicle has been identified as 39-year-old Victor Rosa-Garcia of Fort Bliss.

Police investigators do not anticipate any charges being filed against Rosa-Garcia in the crash.

Police say Spear was driving his motorcycle north on Loop 375 just after 1 a.m. Sunday when he lost control and crashed.

Soon after, a car being driven by Rosa-Garcia, also traveling north, struck Spear, who was lying in the roadway.

Police say speed on behalf of Spear could be a factor in the crash.
