Motorcyclist in early morning Tuesday crash has died

The motorcyclist killed in an early morning crash has been identified as 63-year-old Kenneth Bass.

Police say Bass was traveling at a high rate of speed on Paisano, heading eastbound close to Downtown and he was unable to negotiate a curve in the roadway shortly after 4 a.m. Tuesday.

He lost control of the motorcycle and began to slide on the roadway and became separated from the vehicle.

Bass, who was wearing a helmet, was transported to University where he died as a result of his injuries.

The helmet came off during the collision.

No other vehicles were involved.

This is the 46 th traffic fatality of 2014.
