11.8.13 extreme weather task force el paso

As temperatures drop, danger increases for elderly folks and needy families in the Borderland.

That is why the Extreme Weather Task Force wants to remind Borderland residents about the dangers during the colder months.

The task force launched its Winter Safety and Blanket Drive this week and representatives are collecting blankets for those in need.

They’re also getting out important information about the possible dangers of heating, such as heating fires which can result from improper maintenance of heating equipment.
