El Paso constable killed
El Paso County Constable Robert Parker White was killed early Saturday morning.
Just after midnight Saturday morning, El Paso County sheriff’s officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Anthony Avenue. Officers were informed that White was involved in a physical altercation with another man while working a security detail. White fell to the ground and became unresponsive.
The constable was rushed by ambulance to a local area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
El Paso sheriff Richard Wiles said,”Constable Robert White was a true professional who represented the very essence of public service. This incident is a tragic reminder of the dangers faced by our law enforcement officers as they work to protect us all. We send our sincerest condolences to his family and friends and ask that the El Paso community keep them in your thoughts and prayers.”
El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Persons Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators were called in and began an investigation.
Officers arrested 19-year-old Devon Person Huerta on a Capital Murder charge.
White represented Precinct 1, which covers west El Paso.
