Mom formally charged in daughter’s death after leaving baby in car

A woman whose daughter died after being left inside a car for hours was in court Thursday morning.

Wakesha Ives, a 37-year-old Riverside High School teacher, was formally charged Thursday morning with injury to a child.

Investigators say she left her five-month old daughter inside her car in the school’s parking lot the entire school day.

Her bond was set at $15,000.
