Rolling roadblock on I-10 at Vado exit Friday morning to slow traffic to 15 mph

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) District One office will be assisting law enforcement with a rolling roadblock on I-10 Friday, Nov. 8 from 9:45 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at mile marker 155, the Vado exit.

The rolling roadblock is due to an approved quarry blast in close proximity to the interstate.

The speed limit in the area will be reduced to 15 mph for 1 mile for those traveling east and west on I-10 in that area.

The frontage road located east of I-10 will be blocked during this operation in order to secure the area.

Updates on road projects and traffic alerts will be posted on the Department’s web site www.NMroads.com , and can be retrieved by calling 511 in New Mexico or 1-800-432-4269 out of state.
