BACKGROUND
MV Transportation took over operations at the LIFT in November 2012 and has been working to improve the service for passengers.
As part of the evaluation of the eligibility process, an advisory committee was created and was made up of 10 active LIFT passengers representing various advocacy group, Sun Metro staff and MV Transportation staff.
The committee evaluated the LIFT’s existing process and the eligibility process of established paratransit agencies in other cities. The committee’s goal was to develop a streamlined eligibility process for those who are currently eligible, including those who are eligible on a temporary basis. The committee was dedicated to establishing a fair and simple appeal process, as well as providing alternatives for those who may not be eligible.
