Officer serving criminal warrant is chased by dog; officer shoots and wounds dog

An El Paso Police officer shot and wounded a dog in Central El Paso shortly after noon Thursday.

Police say that at 12:12 p.m. officers were executing a criminal warrant on the 3000 block of Mobile when a dog at the residence chased the officer.

The officer fired one round, striking the animal.

Animal Services arrived and took the dog and at last check the dog is alive.
