Dog dies in West El Paso house fire
Fire officials say a heating system may be to blame for a morning house fire.
It happened just before 9 a.m. At a home on the corner of Florence and Kerbey in West El Paso.
Smoke was billowing out of the home when ABC-7’s crew arrived. Moments later, a soldier ran up to the home, saying he lived there.
El Paso Fire Deputy Chief Chris Celaya said the floor heating system was already charred when crews made it inside the home.
No one was inside the home when the fire started but one of the owner’s two dogs was killed in the fire. The other dog was revived.
Damage is estimated at $10,000 to $15,000.
