Morrissey’s El Paso concert rescheduled for April 23
Morrissey’s twice-postponed El Paso concert will now take place on April 23, according to Ticketmaster.com.
The singer was scheduled to perform a sold-out show at El Paso’s Tricky Falls on Feb. 12 before scrapping the concert and other dates because he was recovering from several ailments. Tickets from the Feb. 12 show will be honored at the new date.
Morrissey’s current tour has run into some obstacles going back to last year. Several concert dates, including an El Paso show, were postponed in November and December because of the singer’s ill mother.
He started postponing/canceling concert dates on the rescheduled tour in late January, at first because of a reported bladder infection and then because of a bleeding ulcer and Barrett’s esophagus.
Morrissey has released two statements related to his illnesses and postponements that are worth reading because they have the singer’s biting writing style and flair for the dramatic. Check the statements out here and here.
Morrissey, who last performed in El Paso in 2009, was feeling ill as he took the stage for El Paso’s 2007 show at the El Paso County Coliseum but he was still able to deliver a full, blistering concert.
“I can, I will, I must,” Morrissey told the audience at El Paso’s 2007 show.
