Operation Noel: Jeronimo family

While many 10, 11, and 12-year-olds are looking for the latest gadgets, one borderland parent is forced to say, “No.”

Maria De La Luz Jeronimo scrambles in whatever she can to make ends meet. Jeronimo recently lost her job cleaning houses. She now sells chocolates and cookies at a local park. “I also give the neighborhood children haircuts for money,” said Jeronimo.

She is currently taking computer and English classes. Jeronimo is the president of her housing community and volunteers at her children’s school. She says “Someday I’ll be able help someone… just like operation noel helps me.”

Denise Olivas will have the Jeronimo’s story coming up on ABC-7 at 5 p.m.
