Pedestrian hit by vehicle on Doniphan Monday has died
A woman hit by a vehicle Monday afternoon has died.
El Paso Police say the woman, whose identity has not been released, was crossing the 5000 block of Doniphan from west to east.
She was not crossing in a crosswalk.
The driver of a red Chevrolet Suburban was southbound on Doniphan when hit the pedestrian who was in the traffic lane.
The driver stopped, called 911, and rendered aid to the pedestrian.
The pedestrian was transported to University Medical Center where she died as a result of the injuries she sustained.
The identities of those involved are pending notification of next of kin.
This is the 61st traffic fatality of 2014 compared to 47 at this same time last year.
