‘Taco dog’ won’t be served at Socorro ISD schools anymore
The “taco dog” is no more.
After pictures were posted on social media and several people gave the taco dog a thumbs down, the Socorro Independent School District will no longer serve the taco dog.
The taco dog consists of a hot dog wiener in a hard taco shell.
The rest of the meal included applesauce cup, pork and beans, sweet potato puffs, holiday cookie, and milk.
Socorro ISD’s spokesman, Daniel Escobar, told ABC-7 the taco dog met all the nutritional requirements and was tested at an area school last year.
It was first served in the district’s elementary school cafeterias on Tuesday and Escobar said the kids didn’t eat it so it will no longer be served at district schools.
