City unveils new artist renderings of ballpark

The Downtown ballpark continues to move a step closer to construction.

City of El Paso project engineer Alan Shubert and the ballpark’s architect showed off new images of the $50 million project during a presentation at City Council on Tuesday.

Shubert said they’re on track budget-wise and there’s no reason the City wouldn’t be able to build a first-class ballpark on that budget. The new stadium will have up to 7,800 seats which will be mostly shaded, party decks, 21 suites, a waterwall, and high-end concessions.

Shubert said City Hall will be taken down in early April but he isn’t ready to release a specific date.
