Results of stray, loose dog roundup by El Paso Sheriff’s Office
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Officers along with the Patrol Division teamed up for a stray/loose dog roundup in Las Colonias north of the Clint landfill El Paso County on Thursday, April 4.
The roundup last from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Nineteen dogs were impounded with three surrendered by owner and 16 citations were issued for not having current rabies vaccinations.
The operation focused on the impounding of unrestrained domestic/stray animals in the Colonias area of El Paso County.
The enhanced enforcement was organized by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office to reduce the number of stray or loose dogs in El Paso County. A reminder to all citizens residing in the unincorporated areas of the county who own domesticated pets, have your pets vaccinated and help control the animal population by spaying or neutering your pets.
Anyone found in violation of the State Health & Safety Code will be cited and may result in their animal being impounded.
The next dog roundup will be on, Friday April 5, 2013.
