Closing arguments to begin Thursday in trial of Alejandro Fierro
Both sides have rested in the trial of Alejandro Fierro.
He is the man accused of killing an El Paso police officer after his vehicle had a violent collision with the officer’s police unit. Prosecutors say Fierro was drunk but the defense says the driver of the police unit is to blame.
During Wednesday’s testimony the defense called a private investigator who testified that the cause of the crash was the result of the police officer running a red light.
But the prosecution questioned the accuracy of his measurements and his experience.
The investigator said he only began working on the case a week ago.
Cosing arguments begin Thursday morning.
