Man in critical condition after falling off trunk of car
A 19-year-old man is in critical condition after falling off the trunk of a car and hitting his head.
El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies were sent to the 7200 block of Ninth St. in Canutillo at about 10:25 p.m. Aug. 1 in reference to an unconscious man.
Upon arrival deputies and West Valley Fire Department discovered the unconscious male and initiated CPR.
A preliminary investigation revealed that hours earlier, for an unknown reason, the 19-year-old man was riding on the trunk of a family member’s 2004 Kia when the victim slid off the vehicle and struck his head on the street.
It is unknown at this time what caused the victim to fall.
The victim was transported to a local area hospital where he remains in critical condition. His name has not been released.
