Miners take home the win in the battle of I-10

The UTEP Miners beat the NMSU Aggies at the Sun Bowl on Saturday.

The final score was 42-24.

During the first quarter, both teams scored seven points. However, UTEP took the lead during the second quarter scoring 14 points and the NMSU Aggies only scoring 3 because of a field goal. Neither team scored in the third quarter. However, UTEP scored 21 points in the fourth quarter. The Aggies only added 14 points to their score.

Aaron Jones ran for 168 yards and scored two touchdowns for the Miners.

The Aggies and the Miners are now 2-1.
