NTSB news conference on bus crash possible today
ABC-7 is preparing for a possible NTSB news conference sometime before Noon Thursday regarding the prison transport bus crash that killed 8 inmates and 2 corrections officers. Five survivors are in Odessa hospitals right now. No one on boar d the bus was from El Paso. The bus was heading to the Rogelio Sanchez State Jail in far East El Paso. It left Abilene, Texas before the sun came up Wednesday and crashed at about 7:30 am.
ABC-7 news anchor Bob Harp just confirmed the details with a National Transportation Safety Board spokesman who arrived in Odessa this evening. Peter Knudson says his team of investigators from NYC, NJ, DC and Dallas will get to work on the scene as soon as the sun comes up.
