Ferguson protests come to El Paso
Protests have spanned all across the country to protest the decision against indicting officer Darren Wilson.
Protests have now come to the Borderland. Members of the community gathered near the UTEP campus in what was meant to be a sign of solidarity.
A silent march down mesa tried to call attention to the more peaceful side of the unrest in Ferguson.
The organizer of the what the protestors call the “Silent March,” said it is about remaining calm and not acting violent.
“There are people going though the streets carrying their signs and also cleaning up the debris,” one member said. “I think those are the things we want to draw attention too because that’s the way that peaceful change happens.”
Darren Wilson’s attorney says Wilson has resigned from the Ferguson Police Department. It has been a little more than three and a half months since the unrest began in Ferguson, Missouri.
