County Commissioners looking for next chief administrator
County commissioners met in special session Saturday to interview the next Chief Administrator for the county of El Paso.
But a final decision has not yet been made.
There are four finalists which were all picked by Colin Baenzinger & Associates, an executive recruitment firm. The finalists include Jane Bais-Disessa, the city manager of Berkley, Michigan.
Disessa has held that position since 2001 and before that she worked in San Antonio.
Joseph R. Huffman has 25 years of experience as a city manager. He’s worked in Laurinburg, North Carolina, which won the all America city designation during his time there.
More recently, Huffman worked in Louisiana.
Michael A. Longoria is the next finalist. Longoria has a military background where he reached the rank of General. Longoria oversaw the management at Moody Air Force Base in Georgia.
Steven P. Norwood has 17 years or experience as a city manager including stints in Round Rock, Texas and Prescott, Arizona.
El Paso County Judge Veronica Escobar told ABC-7 Commissioners court was not ready to make a final decision. Escobar said they will take the rest of the weekend to continue researching the finalist and make the call.
Commissioners are expected to make their decision during their weekly meeting on Monday.
