New Mexico state police said they recovered the body of a Fort Bliss soldier in Elephant Butte lake around 7:30 Saturday night.

Police said they were called by state park officials who said they needed help finding the man. Police said the soldier is 21-year-old Rob Allen Vande Zande who is from Wisconsin.
