Texas Gas Prices Remain Steady During Holiday Season

El Paso,Texas- As drivers hit the roads for the holidays, Texas travelers are paying $3.05 on average for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel in the Lone Star State. According to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch the price of gas is the same as last week and a penny less than last year. It is also 20 cents less than the national average of $3.25. Drivers in Texarkana are paying the most at $3.10 and drivers in Amarillo are paying the least at $2.89.

The national average is up two pennies because of an expected increased demand for fuel during Year-End Travel period. AAA Texas estimates 7.9 million Texans will travel 50 miles or more away from home during the holidays. Nine out of ten of those travelers will go by automobile.

Texans are now paying about $43 to fill up the typical 14-gallon size fuel tank. To find the lowest gas prices in the Borderland go to http://www.kvia.com/ and click on Pump Patrol.
