Part of I-10 closed due to high winds, traffic backed up due to construction

New Mexico Department of Transportation officials say that I-10 from Lordsburg to Deming was closed Saturday due to high winds.

Wind speeds in excess of 50 miles-per-hour were being reported.

NMDOT says I-10 reopened Sunday morning.

I-10 eastbound near Executive is back up due to construction on the Yandell overpass. Many drivers are choosing to take surface street, meaning Mesa and Paisano are also bumper to bumper.
