Suicide call turns into break-in investigation in West El Paso

Several police units, including members of the SWAT team, responded to a situation Friday afternoon.

More than fifteen police cars responded to a home near Balboa Road and Cabrillo Street.

A helicopter was also seen circling the area.

El Paso Police tell ABC-7 that the call came in just before 1:30 p.m. in the 6000 block of Cabrillo as a suicide call they later had reason to believe it was a break-in.

Police tried to contact the person inside with no response.

Police told ABC-7 there were weapons inside the home.

Neighbors living close to the home told ABC-7 a few families in the area were evacuated.

Six hours later a police spokesman told ABC-7 there was no one in the home but they would continue monitoring the area throughout the night.
