First Alert issued for tonight through Saturday afternoon due to increased rain chances

The ABC-7 StormTrack Weather team has issued a first alert through Saturday afternoon because of an increased chance of rain.

The El Paso area doesn’t normally see much rain this time of year.

An upper low over the Baja moved into Arizona Friday afternoon. This will continue to push moisture from the southeast this overnight.

These storms may produce gust up to 40 mph and may produce heavy rains.

El Paso/Las Cruces: Mostly cloudy skies 50 percent chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms overnight. Saturday forecast highs will reach the upper 60’s with a 40 percent chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms.
