Rainy weather expected Thursday

Clouds have moved into the region ahead of a strong rain storm system that has brought plenty of rain to California and Arizona.

The moderate, but lingering rain over Arizona is beginning to move toward Southern New Mexico and West Texas.

Thursday the forecast calls for a 20 percent chance of rain in El Paso and Las Cruces, or scattered showers throughout the afternoon.

The upper level moisture brought clouds to the region Tuesday and Wednesday, but lower level moisture will move through the area Thursday.

The rain chances begin West Thursday morning but track east through the afternoon. Conditions are forecast to dry overnight through early Friday.

El Paso and Las Cruces will see a 20 percent chance of rain Thursday into the early evening.

As for temperatures, they remain fairly constant. A high of 67 is forecast in El Paso Thursday. Las Cruces should see a high of 65.

Over the weekend, another round of rain is possible. A 10 percent chance is in the forecast for El Paso and Las Cruces Saturday evening through Sunday morning.
