“and unfortunately, the other officer was forced to fire his duty handgun…” an officer-involved shooting leaves one man in critical condition. we have the latest on the investigation. “we young, we strong, w marching all night long….” meanwhile… protests continue nationwide over the death of freddie gray — the man who died in police custody. why protestors will still have to wait for answers over his death. and back here in the borderland — the investigation continues into a crash involving that shut down 1-10 for hours overnight. we have your round the clock coverage. several people are in the hospital this morning after a multi-vehicle crash that shut down 1-10 for hours. take a look at that video. this happened at i-10 east at hawkins around 10. we do know at least two people suffered serious injuries. you can see here that one of the cars was in pretty bad shape. still no word this morning what led to the crash. special traffic investigators were on the scene all night. let’s go now to a live look at that area. traffic has since reopened as the scene has cleared. good morning el paso, las cruces, and juarez. i’m stephanie valle. and i’m hillary floren. good morning. we have much to get to this morning, including the latest on an officer- involved shooting. to our round the clock coverage now… a ten-year-veteran of the el paso police department is on administrative leave this morning after he was involved in a shooting last night. it happened on the 300 block jesuit drive in el paso’s lower valley. police say the officer was responding to an alleged home burglary. good morning el paso’s denise olivas is live on the scene with what led up to the shooting. denise? a police spokesman was out here overnight to give our crew the latest details. we’re told when that two officers arrived and found a 22-year-old man who police say was breaking into the home. the suspect allegedly threatened officers. we don’t know if he had some sort of weapon, but it was enough for one of the officers to take out a taser and use it on the suspect– but that wasn’t enough. police say that’s when the 10-year- veteran fired his gun. that suspect was taken to a local hospital. right now we don’t know the severity of his injuries. “this is going to be a detailed investigation.
