Police report released on 2011 Walmart incident with Dez Bryant; NFL star was questioned, not arrested in incident

An NFL.com writer has written a report on a mid-2011 incident involving Cowboys star Dez Bryant at a Walmart.

In the Thursday post on NFL.com, Ian Rapoport describes a report filed by the Lancaster (Texas) Police Department from early morning July 11, 2011.

The police report described the response by an officer to “an unknown disturbance” in a Walmart parking lot July 11.

“Vehicles registered to Bryant were at the scene in the parking lot, and Bryant later arrived in another car, when he was spoken to by a Lancaster PD officer,” the NFL.com report states.

According to the police report, a security guard for Walmart was told by someone in the parking lot that a black female was pulled from a vehicle.

The police report indicates the vehicle belonged to Ilyne Nash who told officers she got into an argument with a person named Alex Penson. After the argument, Nash called friends to pick up her vehicle. The vehicle her friends showed up in was registered to Bryant.

Nash and Bryant arrived at the Walmart parking lot as police were investigating the incident. Bryant said he picked up Nash at her friend’s house in Desoto after she called him and said she got into an argument with someone. Bryant said he went with her to the Walmart parking lot for support.

After speaking with all parties involved, it was determined there was no offense, according to the police report.

Rumors have swirled around the Internet for months, and heated up in recent weeks, of a video existing of Bryant allegedly doing something that has been compared to the Ray Rice incident.

Rice was shown on video punching his then-girlfriend and then dragging her off of an elevator.
