UTEP vs Louisiana Tech women’s game moved fromThursday to Friday

The UTEP women’s basketball team’s match-up with Louisiana Tech, originally scheduled for 7 p.m. MST Thursday, has been moved to a 12 p.m. MST tip-off at the Don Haskins Center on Friday.

There is free admission to the contest, and fans are encouraged to take an extended mid-day break to cheer on the head coach Keitha Adams’s Miners (10-13, 5-9 C-USA) against the Tyler Summitt’s Lady Techsters (14-12, 9-6 C-USA).

The schedule change is due to inclement weather through East Texas and North Louisiana that threw a wrench in the travel plans for the Lady Techsters.

As far as the festivities for the National Girls And Women In Sports Week,an autograph session with UTEP women’s athletic teams will now be after the conclusion of the “Senior Day” game with Southern Miss on Sunday. Tip-off for that contest is slated for 2 p.m. MST, and Papa John’s is hoping to help the Miners “Pack The House.”

If 12,000 fans pack the Don Haskins Center, everyone leaves with a free large pizza voucher (no purchase necessary). Fans may pick up a voucher at an El Paso Papa John’s location which may be exchanged for up to four free tickets for the game. Fans may also contact the UTEP marketing office at (915) 747-6065 for vouchers.
