FIT FOR ’15: Homemade hummus 05.22.15

the memori of food. in this week’s fit for ’15, sponsored by planet fitness — we’re visiting with e-p-c-c’s chef daniel guerra — who came up with a healthier take on a popular appetizer: Today we’re going to make some hummus and we’re going to do some different kinds of hummus. Make it a little more Southwest. Include some green chile and a sun-dried tomato. 1.27 3.09 We’re putting the garbanzo beans and put in a little warm water to take the shell off .. You want to drain the chickpeas and save the water cuz it has a lot of that garbanzo bean flavor. 4.17 This is about 4 cups of garbanzo beans … then we’ll stick it into a food processor or blender to puree them up, then we’ll add the onion, shallot … nats you can use garlic if you want to. 10.05 you just want to cook it until it starts getting fragrant nats processor it’s just pureeing it and drizzling in with olive oil to give it that nice flavor and texture that we’re looking for. 3.35 voila. green chile hummus. sun dried tomato hummus and it took about 10 minutes. It is very easy.
