El Pasoan competing in Crossfit games
Margaux Alvarez, 30, is taking part in the Reebok Crossfit Games for a third straight year.
Alvarez placed second at the Crossfit Regionals out of the entire south central region easily making the cut for the national competition.
Alvarez said she is ready for this year’s competition and has trained harder than ever before.
“‘Focus, drive, execute’ has been my mantra since 2012, and that’s something I’ve always used to calm myself down and focus,” Alvarez said. “I wrote that down to remind me I’m going to do this.”
After one day of competition, Alvarez is ranked 10th out of the 40 women involved in the 2015 Crossfit Games.
She continues her trek to be called the “Fittest Woman on Earth” Friday starting at 2 p.m.
