Estela’s Escuelas: Little Libraries
said “whe you possess a book with mind and spirit, you are enriched. but when you pass it on you are enriched threefold.” on today’s estela’s escuelas, we head out to downtown el paso … where el paso electric interns are working on their “littl libraries” project. the interns organized a company book drive and gathered more than 2-thousand books. they also raised money to build 16 small libraries, which they painted today. the goal is to fill those small libraries with books … then donate them to community organizations in the borderland: marisa adams: “we hope that the make books more accessible for children and for families. we know that literacy is a very important topic and we just want everyone to have the chance to read a really good book.” danielle ortiz: “i feels so nice just knowing that we’re going to contribute to our community. i love how el paso electric incorporated this into our internship. it is a really good way to make us more aware of what is going on.” that was danielle ortiz, a local high school student. before her, you heard from marisa adams, a college student from boston. to all the interns and el paso electric employees who helped — thank you for your commitment to our community. paying for health care. there’s a
