Lucha Libre wrestlers deliver gifts to young patients

Colorful characters like Skybird, Aereo, Minifusion and El Hijo de Samurai delivered coloring books and other gifts to children staying at Providence Children’s Hospital.

The Borderland “lucha libre” wrestlers, along with some local boxers, were invited so young patients can meet and greet them mask and all.

“We are thrilled to have the ‘lucha libre’ wrestlers and professional boxers visit our pediatric patients” Peggy Schuster, Child Life Services Coordinator at Providence Children’s Hospital said in a news release. “Visits like this always put a smile on our children’s faces and that is priceless.”

Among the wrestlers was Cassandro, an El Paso native and former National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) Welterweight and Universal Wrestling Association (UWA) wrestling champion.

The childrem also got to meet Sisco, Inmortal, Minotauro and boxers Victor “Dragon” Pasillas and with Albert “Baby Jordan” Calzada.
