UPDATE: Woman hit by mail truck Downtown dies from injuries

A woman who was hit by a U.S. Postal Service truck in Downtown El Paso on Wednesday afternoon died from her injuries.

Susana Nuez-Figueroa, 91, was crossing Oregon Street at a crosswalk when she was hit a by a mail truck driven by 29-year-old William Grizzard, police said.

Grizzard told police he did not see the woman, who ended up pinned underneath the truck.

Nuez-Figueroa was taken in serious condition to University Medical Center, where she died.

Charges have not been filed.
