Chihuahua Cody Decker called up to Padres

Chihuahuas first baseman Cody Decker now has a new home and it is with the San Diego Padres.

Decker hit .252 in 120 games in El Paso this season. He spent most of his time at first base, but made a good amount of appearances at third base.

Decker spread the news through his Twitter account saying, “I have waited my entire life, and today I am a big leaguer! Thank you to everyone who has ever supported me!”

The move is bittersweet because Decker was clearly a fan favorite in the Borderland, but it is also well deserved after spending 7 seasons in the farm system. As they say, hard work does pay off.

Decker will join the Padres in Arizona tomorrow for their next series against the Diamondbacks.
