Capital murder trial for El Paso woman set to begin this week

A woman who police say helped kill a man over drugs is expected to stand trial this week.

Sonia Bautista was arrested back in 2014 along with Ricardo Macias and Brianna Garay. They were allegedly involved in a confrontation with Castanon concerning Ecstasy pill sales and allegedly worked together to kill Castanon after the confrontation became physical.

The three suspects also stole money and illegal narcotics from Castanon, police said. Bautista, Macias, and Garay were charged with capital murder.
