SWAT situation ends with man in custody in East El Paso

A man barricaded himself inside an East El Paso home, prompting police to send the SWAT team early Wednesday morning.

Police responded to a domestic dispute about 5:30 a.m. in the 11200 block of Ivanhoe. They said the man’s wife called 911 and said the man was making threats with a knife. Police said two teenage children also in the home.

The woman was able to run out of the house before police entered the house about 8 a.m. and took the man into custody.

The teens in the home could be seen being escorted from the home.

Nearby schools in the Ysleta Independent School District were put on modified lockdown during the incident.
