Report: NMSU to play Kentucky in basketball thanks to football deal

New Mexico State University will play against perennial basketball powerhouse Kentucky in basketball thanks to the two playing each other in a football game in Sept. 2016.

The Courier-Journal reports that NMSU will play Kentucky at Rupp Arena but the date has not been finalized. It is tentatively scheduled for the 2017-’18 season.
