hillary floren. good morning, everyone. a dry week ahead west-southwest flow aloft dominates the weather pattern. temperatures today and tuesday will warm up nicely above normal ahead of an incoming pacific storm system. storm system moves to new mexico tuesday and though little chance of rain exists…the storm will bring the first strong winds of the season to the borderland. winds of 25 to 35 mph will develop late afternoon and last much of the night. temperatures will cool down back below normal wednesday into the weekend as the storm leaves the scene. we’ll talk more about what to expect for the rest of this work week and the weekend ahead coming up in your full forecast. to round the clock news… . el paso police are investigating a stabbing in east el paso. so far… we know a man with stab wounds showed up at del sol hospital. he told police he was stabbed near the intersection of lee trevino and vista del sol. police may were also investigating an apartment complex in the area. when we spoke with police on the phone… they told us they are still piecing together what exactly happened and where the stabbing took place. no further details were released. / one week after that deadly apartment fire… the victims are being laid to rest today. fire officials said a fire was sparked by an overheated griddle in the kitchen of their apartment located on sims drive near mrcrae and i-10 in east el paso. family and friends paid their respects last night to 32- year-old mahgaly mendoza and her two daughters, 11-year- old andrea garcia and 4-year-old paulina ortega. relatives, co- workers and friends all gathered at san jose funeral home for a rosary and prayer service. members of under one roof, a local el paso charity, are fully funding the funeral costs. a man is in critical condition this morning after being hit by a small s-u-v. it happened in west el paso near the corner of castellano drive and mesa street about 8:30 last night. the intersection of castellano and mesa street was shut down into the early morning hours as police continued to investigate what happened. no word if speed or alcohol were factors in the crash. the driver was taken to university medical center with life threatening injuries. no word if the driver will face any charges at this time. / a holloman airman is dead after crashing on i-10 near mesquite this weekend. he’s been identified as 24-year old andrew dare. from our new mexico mobile newsroom .. new mexico state police say the crash happpened near the mesquite exit, just south of las cruces shortly after nine in the morning on saturday. police say dare was riding on i-10 west when he crashed into another vehicle. the impact caused dare to enter the median and crash into the cable barrier. dare died at the scene. dare, from north carolina, was in the air force and was stationed at holloman air force base. more clues this morning that the doomed russian airliner was brought down by a terrorist bomb. 224-people died when
