Ruidoso man charged with sexual exploitation of children
Ruidoso Police have arrested a 33-year-old man and charged him with sexual exploitation of children after a multi-month investigation.
On Tuesday, Nov. 9, members of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force arrested Sherman R. Trujillo and charged him with the following:
Eight counts of distribution of a visual medium of sexual exploitation of children under 18 years of age, all of which are 3rd degree felonies.
One count of possession of a visual medium of sexual exploitation of children under 18 years of age, a 4th degree felony.
Trujillo was transported to the Lincoln County Detention Center where he was being held on a bond of $85,000 cash or surety.
This case was brought forward as a part of the New Mexico ICAC Task Force’s mission, which is to locate, track, and capture Internet child sexual predators and Internet child pornographers in New Mexico.
There are 84 federal, state, military, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies associated with the New Mexico ICAC Task Force, which is funded by a grant administered by the New Mexico Office of the Attorney General.
Anyone with information relating to suspected child predators and suspected child abuse is encouraged to contact federal or local law enforcement.
