Castruita sentenced to life

An El Paso jury sentenced Luis Castruita to life in prison Thursday, for the murder of Efren Garcia in El Paso’s Cincinnati bar district in 2014.

Witnesses testified Castruita and Garcia had an altercation at a bar, and then Castruita shot Garcia as he left the bar, back in March, 2014. Castruita was convicted of the crime last week, and sentenced to life in prison Thursday morning.

The jury also assessed a $10,000 fine.
