a woman’s hand on the floor… i realize she wasn’t breathing. i was asking her if she was okay, when i felt safe enough to look up, i noticed she was in a pool of blood, she had been shot in the chest. i think she was shot in the chest, she was being carried by her boyfriend outside. it was awful, really awful. at this hour, those who survived an attack on a paris concert venue physically unscathed have been bused to a special crisis center for psychological support. france has deployed 1,500 extra troops around paris to guard french facilities. schools and universities are closed. and so are the borders. in situations like we are seeing in paris… social media is proving to be much more powerful than any of us may have realized. facebook activated its safety feature and those in and around paris were able to let their facebook friends know they are safe. tom scott, the managing editor of our new mexico mobile newsroom — has family in paris. and his daughter caitlin learned from a facebook notification that her cousins are okay. she let her parentss back here in las cruces know they are safe: “i went on facebook because…i was worried about my cousins in paris. i had a notification that both confirmed they were ok so i wondered how its worked. three columns. one friends in paris, one about people who haven’t quite confirmed yet and luckily both cousins are fine. so people in paris. here in the borderland, residents in far east el paso will be happy to see some construction barrels in their neighborhood. that’s because the city of el paso will finish the missing link of pebble hills boulevard. the map shows you how pebble hills stops at a dead end near tierra mina … less than a thousand feet from zaragoza road. when pebble hills connects to zaragoza it will open up another option for commuters. city rep michiel noe says the city faced several obstacles. the piece of land was under county jurisdiction – meaning the city had to annex the land. the property was also split into three parcels with separate owners – forcing the city to negotiate with each owner. “this is definitely a goo connection that we really need for sometime – it is going to deter
