NBA superstar sports Texas Western jersey after big win

Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook is having one of the best seasons of his career.

He scored 43 points in the Thunder’s 110-103 win over the Pelicans Wednesday night, including 12 of the Thunder’s final 15 points, despite being double and triple teamed.

Westbrook is close to averaging a triple double this season with 28.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 10.4 assists a game.

After the win he paid special homage to a player with El Paso roots.

Westbrook posted a picture of himself on Instagram wearing a 1966 Texas Western Miners jersy featuring the number of Bobby Joe Hill.

The caption for his Instagram picture stated “Glory Road #bobbyjoehill #whynot”
