El Paso Police searching for driver involved in fatal hit-and-run; deceased identified

El Paso Police are looking for the person responsible for a fatal hit-and-run.

El Paso Police have released the name of the 53-year-old man killed in the crash. He is Albert Guzman, of the 8400 block of Tigris in El Paso.

Police say a 1993 Ford Escort driven by Guzman was possibly stopped at the traffic light located at Gateway East and Corral just after 1 a.m. on Nov. 22.

At the same time, police say a dark color Dodge Ram pickup was allegedly travelling at a high rate of speed on Gateway East and collided with the Ford Escort, killing Guzman.

The pickup then fled the scene.

Investigators are asking that anyone with information on the fatal hit-and-run to call police at 832-4400 or Crime Stoppers at 915-566-TIPS (8477).

This is the 45th traffic fatality of 2015 compared to 57 at this point last year.
